Biography
Philadelphia's Broken Frequency was formed in 2006 by friends Dan Vincenti (guitar/ lead vocals) and Brian McClure (drums). Vincenti's thought provoking lyrics reflect the socially conscious messages of early punk rock, while the music itself draws upon a wide range of rock genres. The band quickly earned a reputation for their energetic live shows and skilled musicianship. Their debut self-titled EP was released in July 2007.
Broken Frequency solidified their lineup with the addition of Russ Posluszny in 2008. Their sophomore EP, "Breaking the Transmission," was released on House United Records in December 2008. Engineered by Vince Ratti at The Skylight Studio (None More Black, Circa Survive, Saosin) in Fairless Hills, PA, "Breaking the Transmission" exhibits a clear progression from Broken Frequency's earlier work. Songs from that release have been featured on radio 94.1 FM WYSP's Loud and Local program.
"Connection," Broken Frequency's third EP, was released in summer 2009. The band returned to Skylight Studios to record this four song EP. "Connection" shows the band maturing musically while redefining their sound one song at a time. It is definitely their most creative work to date.
In fall 2009, Broken Frequency further enhanced its lineup with the addition of bassist Billy Pandola. With Russ switching to guitar, Billy's arrival allows Broken Frequency to further expand its sonic palette. Now a four piece, Broken Frequency certainly has the talent and drive to accomplish great things. The band is now writing new music for their first full length release, due out in 2010.
